Track estimates, commitments, payments, and categories

Budget keeps spending visible across the planning process. It should line up with reports and any chatbot/planner summaries so the couple sees one consistent budget picture.

Budget workflow

  1. Enter the overall budget target.
  2. Create or use categories such as venue, catering, attire, entertainment, floral, photo/video, print, travel, and miscellaneous.
  3. Add estimates early, then update to committed and paid amounts later.
  4. Attach notes for vendor names, due dates, and payment status.
  5. Review totals in reports and any dashboard summary.

Consistency checks

  • Budget figure should match across Budget, reports, planner dashboard, and chatbot summaries.
  • Delete functionality should be verified after refresh before relying on cleanup.
  • If one page shows a different number, treat it as a sync/source issue.

Practical warning

Do not hide estimates
Leaving estimated costs blank makes the budget look cleaner but less useful. Use best estimates early, then refine as quotes arrive.
