Manage private wedding-adjacent events

Special Events handles rehearsal dinner, welcome party, brunch, or other events that only selected guests should see or RSVP to. It should not expose private events to the full guest list unless intended.

Setup workflow

Create the event with title, date, time, location, and description.
Select or tag which guests are invited.
Preview as an invited guest and as a non-invited guest.
Confirm the event appears in reports and guest summaries.
Close changes when the RSVP period ends.

Recommended defaults

Premium setup may seed a default Rehearsal Dinner at 6:00 PM the night before the wedding date.
Treat seeded events as placeholders until the couple confirms real details.
Use plain language such as “Rehearsal Dinner” or “Farewell Brunch” rather than internal planning names.

Guest behavior

Guest type	Expected behavior
Invited guest	Can see and respond while RSVP is open.
Not invited	Should not see the private event.
RSVP closed	Should see a read-only summary if they are included, with contact instructions for changes.

Common checks

Issue	Likely fix
Wrong guests see event	Review invite selection/tags.
Event not showing	Check feature toggle, event date/details, and guest eligibility.
Guest can still edit	Check RSVP closed/portal mode behavior.
